How to look after your Micro scooter? Tips and Tricks
Our scooters last for years and each part can be replaced separately. These can be found on the parts page. Below are some tips that guarantee years of enjoyment from your scooter.

Push button/steering clamp
The steer can be fixed at any height. The push button prevents the steer from being pulled out all the way. It is therefore important that the handlebar clamp is properly adjusted to hold the tube in place. You can still use the steering wheel without a push button. The button actually only breaks if vertical forces are applied (riding off the pavement etc) and the handlebar clamp is too loose.
How do you tighten the handlebar clamp?
The handlebar clamp has an Allen screw opposite the handle (on the newer types with a ribbed knob). By tightening this knob with an Allen screw, you can put more tension on the clamp. Push the steering wheel to see if it stays in place. If it drops a bit, tighten the clamp even more.
Is the black push button missing?
You can easily replace the push button (1586). Unscrew the screw on the back of the handlebar clamp, push the clamp up and pull out the top part of the bar. You can now look into the aluminium steering tube from below. Sometimes the push button is still there and you can push it back into place. If it is gone, you can order a new one here and put the rod back in reverse order.
Is part of the clamp missing?
If the clamp is not properly tensioned, the screw bolt can vibrate further while driving. If your handle has fallen off as a result, you can easily reassemble it if you still have all the parts. Make sure it is properly tensioned afterwards. If you have lost the parts, you can order a new clamp for your Mini or Maxi here.

Grips
The handles have a ball grip at the ends. This one is there for protection. It is important that this ball is properly slid onto the bar, so that you cannot move it back and forth loosely. The end of the rod is sharp and otherwise the rubber could tear.

Wheels/Bearings
The front and rear wheels of the scooter have wheels with bearings. Bearings do not like dirt, sand and water. If a wheel is jammed for some reason, you can take it off and check the bearings. Note that the bolt on the left front wheel loosens clockwise (the bolt has a minus sign in the hole). If you tilt the wheel you can tap the lower bearing out from the inside. You can often get the bearing working again with some WD-40 by turning it back and forth. If the bearings need to be replaced, they can be ordered here.

Led Wheels
The LED wheels are turned on by a dynamo. Sometimes it can become less effective due to dirt. In that case, take the wheel off. (use a hex wrench to hold screw on the back and use a bahco for the front). Note that the bolt on the left wheel loosens clockwise (this bolt can be recognized by a dash in the socket hole). Hold the wheel between your thumb and index finger and let it spin. You can then check if it works. You should also feel some kind of slight vibration as the wheel spins. If you do not feel this vibration, you can turn the magnet around. This is very simple. If you put the wheel at an angle, you can tap out the bottom bearing with a small tap with a screwdriver through the hole from the inside. Then you can turn the white magnet coil and replace the bearing. Usually it is then resolved. Since the wheel has been used for a while, we also recommend cleaning the inside of the wheel and the magnet well. It may be contaminated.

Front wheels a bit skewed
Due to intensive use, the wheels can become a bit more skewed in due course. This is because the saucer rings of the steering mechanism will be worn after a few years. This in itself has no influence on the steering behaviour. If you would still like the wheels to be a bit straighter, this can easily be solved by replacing the saucer rings. You can easily replace the push button (1023). Unscrew the screw on the back of the handlebar clamp, push the clamp up and pull out the top part of the bar. You can now look into the aluminium steering tube from below. Sometimes the push button is still there and you can push it back into place. If it is gone, you can order a new one here.

Steer is not straight
If your steer is not straight (seen from above), this means that the lower clamp needs to be tightened. Loosen the two Allen screws first. Straighten the handlebars and make sure the clamp is properly aligned. Then tighten the bolts alternately at the top and bottom, so that the clamp tightens evenly. Continue until both bolts are as tight as possible. We recommend using a good quality Allen wrench.

Adjusting quick release clamp folding mechanism
The silver quick release clamp of the folding mechanism must be adjusted tight so that it closes with resistance. If it is too loose, you can easily tighten it. Open the clamp halfway so that it points away from the scooter. Then turn the ribbed knob on the other side.

Folding block is difficult to collapse
If the buttons of the folding mechanism are difficult to press, or you feel resistance when folding the handlebars backwards, this means that the metal pins of the folding block are somewhat dirty. you can easily fix this by spraying WD-40 on the pins (also through the hole on the other side of the folding block). Push the pin back and forth a few times until it runs smoothly again.

Creaking sound folding block
If the folding block creaks a bit, this is caused by the bolt of the turning mechanism being tightened a little too tight. Loosen it a quarter of a turn, then it is usually already solved. In addition, it is important that the two bolts under the deck are properly tightened.

We advice to check the bolts every 3 months and tighten them if necessary.
